Bangladesh has included batsman Sabbir Rahman for the second Test against Sri Lanka to reinforce their batting without harmed all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, a group official said Monday.
Shakib will miss the second Test beginning Thursday in Dhaka after he neglected to recuperate from finger damage that kept him out of the opening match.
Sabbir, who played 10 Tests to score 480 keeps running at a normal of 26.66, was disregarded for the main diversion after he neglected to satisfy desires in the one-day tri-arrangement a month ago.
The two-Test arrangement remained bolted at 0-0 after the main match finished in an attract Chittagong on Sunday.
"The wicket of Dhaka is entirely different than Chittagong. So we figured an additional batsman may be valuable. This is the reason we included Sabbir," said boss selector Minhajul Abedin.
The home side dropped left-arm spinner Sunzamul Islam and pace bowler Rubel Hossain, however, held Abdur Razzak and uncapped off-soften bowler Naeem Hasan up the 15-man squad.
Sunzamul guaranteed only one wicket in the simply finished up Test, giving endlessly 153 keeps running in his 45 overs in Sri Lanka's just innings.
Rubel did not play the main Test.
Mahmudullah Riyad will proceed as chief without standard captain Shakib.
